What a spectacular start to the Mets season and what an incredible record setting homestand that saw them go a perfect 10-0 for the first time in the 54 year history of the franchise.

It’s the first time the Mets can boldly say they have a hugely significant home field advantage since moving into  Citi Field for their inaugural season in 2009. And boy does it ever feel so good.

The eleven game winning streak ties a Mets record that was last accomplished during the 1990 season.

The Mets accomplished their remarkable achievement playing against all their NL East rivals, averaging 4.6 runs per game while our pitchers held opponents to a 2.31 ERA, striking out 131 and walking only 31. Amazing.

Nelson Figueroa said something that resonated with me and I hope with you too.  “If you can’t get excited about this Mets team right now, there’s something wrong with you.”

I felt the Mets were a possible playoff team even before the season started, but given what I’ve seen so far, I’m ready to upgrade that from possible to probable.

The Mets now head to the Bronx for the start of a three game series with the New York Yankees riding an MLB best 13-3 record.
