It was not the greatest of weeks for the Metropolitans as the team split a four-game series with the Cincinnati Reds prior to being swept by the Milwaukee Brewers.

Noah Syndergaard though put on a clinic against the Reds while Jeff McNeil just continues to hit in what were some bright spots from this past week.

Pitcher of the Week – Noah Syndergaard

A complete game and a home run was all it took for Syndergaard to help the team pick up a win in Cincinnati. Hopefully the performance was a sign of things to come for Noah.

Syndergaard’s complete game stats were as follows:

9 IP, 0 ER, 4 H, 1 BB, 10 K, .133 BA, 0.56 WHIP

He improved his record to 2-3 on the season while lowering his ERA to 5.02 from 6.35. The pitching and offensive performance against the Reds was also good enough to win the NL Player of the Week award from MLB.

The man just continues to hit. Jeff McNeil seemingly cannot be stopped at the plate as he is showing everyone that his offensive prowess is no fluke.

McNeil’s stats over the past week:

.367/.367/.433, 11 H, 2 2B, 2 RBI, 0 BB, 4 K.

The utility man has shown his ability to adapt to major league pitching with ease and will be a big part of the offense going forward.
