The first day of full workouts for New York Mets pitchers and catchers is in the books. One thing Mets fans will notice this season in terms of pitching is a lot of new faces. The starting rotation will likely feature three new arms, and the bullpen depth has been completely redone by David Stearns.

Let’s take a look at a few of the great photos by MMO photographer Ed Delany taken on Wednesday. Make sure to follow us on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram to see all the photos.

Sean Manaea

The Mets signed veteran lefty Sean Manaea to a deal this offseason –basically, a one-year, $14.5M deal if he’s good this year or a two-year, $28M deal if he decides to opt-out– to give them another experienced starter.

Manaea struggled to start the 2023 season, but he was much better down the stretch with a 2.61 ERA in his last 14 appearances for the San Francisco Giants. He had a 2.25 ERA with an 18-strikeout-to-2-walk ratio in his final four starts last year.

Yohan Ramírez

The 28-year-old was acquired for cash from the Chicago White Sox in December. Ramírez had a 4.23 ERA in 38 1/3 innings last season between the White Sox and Pirates. Working as exclusively as a reliever, the right-hander has a 3.99 ERA in 102 major league appearances.

Ramírez was mostly a four-seamer and sweeper pitcher last season. Hitters had just a .171 expected batting average and .261 expected slugging percentage against his sweeper last season.

Adrian Houser

Adrian Houser rejoined David Stearns when the Mets traded pitching prospect Coleman Crow to the Brewers for Houser and outfielder Tyrone Taylor. Houser, a free agent after the season, has made at least 20 starts in each of the last three seasons and has a 3.94 ERA during that span with the Brewers.

Houser figures to start the season at the back end of the Mets rotation, but does also have experience pitching out of the bullpen if they have a need there.

Austin Adams

Austin Adams recently cleared waivers after being designated for assignment by the Mets. The 32-year-old had a 5.71 ERA last season with the Diamondbacks, though he did have a 3.72 FIP and 3.55 expected ERA. He also struck out 22 batters in 17 1/3 innings last year.

The right-hander has a 4.17 ERA and 13.4 K/9 innings over 114 1/3 big league innings for four different teams.
