The Mets on Tuesday will promote infielder Jeff McNeil, who has been one of their best hitters in the minor leagues.

Ty Kelly will likely be optioned to make room on the active roster as one of the moves, but Yoenis Cespedes to the disabled list likely seems like the other.

Cespedes, 32, returned from the DL Friday to DH against the Yankees in the Subway Series and clubbed a home run, but revealed after the game that he has been plagued by calcification in his heels.

The outfielder said he would ultimately need surgery as a solution to the issue, leading to a communication disaster among the front office and a big game of he said, she said.

Regardless, the heel issue is a problem, and Cespedes is likely going to be sidelined long term.
