Alonso dominated the voting at first base appearing on 66 of 68 ballots and getting 45 first-team votes. He continues to rack of the accolades after being a first-time All-Star, Home Run Derby Champ, Rookie of the Year, and won the regular season home run crown.
ESPN’s second team featured Mets reliever Seth Lugo after he posted a 2.70 ERA, 0.90 WHIP, and had 104 strikeouts in 80 innings during the 2019 season.
No Mets made the third team, with Howie Kendrick as the utility player over Jeff McNeil being a bit of a head-scratcher.
