Mets closer Bobby Parnell took to Twitter this afternoon under the alias of @Mets and answered a variety of questions for fans. Here’s what we learned:

When asked how his health was, Parnell responded, “The neck is very good. Throwing, running, lifting all on schedule for the start of the season.”

His favorite moment as a major leaguer thus far were his two saves against the Yankees last season.

When asked which player he looked up to the most, he said it was LaTroy Hawkins.

Spoke highly of Jon Niese: “Great guy. Been fortunate enough to watch him mature and love what he’s developed into as a pitcher.”

The fastest he’s ever thrown his fastball was 102.5 MPH. Wow!

He’s looking forward to getting to know Travis d’Arnaud a lot better and said he has a good game plan.

He chose uniform No. 39 while in Brooklyn. “It was given to me after I got drafted, and I had a good year with it. Superstition.”

It’s a lot of fun, playing in New York, he says. “Lot of great fans, great city to play in. The fans are always with you.”

Sounds like he’s doing fine…
