Could Carlos Beltran be introduced as the Mets’ next manager for a second time? Las Vegas certainly thinks so.
Carlos Beltran is the early favorite to become Mets manager per @oddschecker.

+500 Joe Espada
+600 Bob Melvin
+850 Buck Showalter

It’s certainly possible. Both Alex Cora and A.J. Hinch have returned to managing since being implicated in the Houston Astros sign-stealing scandal.
Current Astros bench coach Joe Espada is second, followed by Athletics manager Bob Melvin, Buck Showalter who last managed the Orioles in 2018 is third, and Brad Ausmus who last managed the Angels in 2019 is fourth.
Odds from BetOnline.ag differ from OddsChecker. Espada is the favorite at +400, followed by Beltran (+500), Ron Washington, who hasn’t managed since 2014, (+600), and Showalter (+800). Ausmus is +900 with Melvin at +1200.
As always it’s fun to see the betting odds for candidates who have no chance. Former Mets Mike Piazza at +1200, David Wright at +2000, Doc Gooden at +5000, Keith Hernandez at +5000, and Darryl Strawberry at +6600.
Maybe the Mets bring back a former manager. Willie Randolph is at +1400 and Bobby Valentine, who is busy with his Stamford, Connecticut mayoral campaign, is at +2000.
The last Mets managerial hiring cycle in January 2020 had Luis Rojas at +400 per BetOnline.ag. Eduardo Perez led the way at +300, followed by Hensley Mullens at +350.
