It looks like the Mets are attempting to make some amends regarding the whole drama that surrounded their inaugural patch for this seasons uniforms.

At the risk of reigniting the silly “patch” controversy that developed last month, the Mets introduced another patch — not a replacement — Thursday.

The new one will adorn the left side of the team’s caps during the regular season.

This patch celebrates the first season of Citi Field. The arches of the rotunda of Citi Field are depicted.

This new patch had actually been introduced at the same time as the Domino’s Pizza patch, but became overshadowed during the controversy.

It’s a very sharp design that really captures the new stadium and is much more appealing.

The Mets will sport this patch for all 162 games this season, and so far it looks to be available on three different variations including the traditional cap shown above.

Actually, I can’t wait to get a hold of one of these new hats myself…

It would be nice to take it to games and try to have it signed by as many players as I can, as well as Jerry Manuel.

The best thing about this design is that you don’t get hungry after looking at it for a few minutes.
