Bob Nightengale of USA Today reports that the New York Mets trade talks with the San Diego Padres involving Noah Syndergaard are “completely dormant,” according to officials.

Syndergaard, 26, has been the subject of rampant trade rumors, but it appears those discussions, at least with the Padres, might be done. It was reported earlier today that the Padres made what they considered to be a substantial offer for Syndergaard on Tuesday that the Mets rejected.

The right-hander had one of his best performances this season on Tuesday night, striking out 11 batters in 7 1/3 innings while allowing only one run (zero earned), five hits, and one walk.

That lowered the Texas-native’s ERA to 4.10. On the year, he also has a 7-5 record, 1.24 WHIP, and 137 strikeouts in 21 starts (134 innings).
