At the beginning of last week, it didn’t look like Noah Syndergaard would remain a Met for long. Trade rumors swirled about the Mets right-hander, but Syndergaard stayed in New York and delivered two outstanding performances that earned him the NL Player of the Week honors.

Amid trade rumors on Tuesday night, Syndergaard dazzled with 11 strikeouts in 7.1 innings against the White Sox. And on Sunday, he allowed just three hits and one run against Pirates. In total, he threw 14.1 innings with 14 strikeouts while only allowing one earned run.

He now owns an 8-5 record with a 3.69 ERA and 1.20 WHIP in 22 starts this season. He also owns a 3.44 FIP, 3.4 WAR, and 8.9 K/9 in 141 innings pitched.

Additionally, Marcus Stroman won the Play of the Week, per Anthony DiComo of MLB.com. In the first inning of his Mets’ debut, Stroman threw out a runner at home plate with a barehanded play.
