Wayne Randazzo of WCBS880 reports that Noah Syndergaard left Saturday night’s game with a right hamstring strain.

With the Mets up 8-3 in the seventh inning, Mets starter Noah Syndergaard grabbed at his hamstring following a pitch. After allowing a single and a stolen base to start the seventh inning, Syndergaard was visited on the mound by manager Mickey Callaway and Brian Chicklo, the head trainer. After a short conversation, Noah limped towards the dugout with his manager and trainer flaking him.

Robert Gsellman came in relief, and after getting his fill of warm-up pitches, he walked Jose Martinez to put two runners on base. Then Gsellman, pitching for the second straight day, hung a changeup to Matt Carpenter that was turned into an RBI double. Dexter Fowler then singled off the glove of Gsellman to score another run, and the Cards tallied another on a Paul DeJong sacrifice fly.

The book on Syndergaard closed after he’d pitched seven-plus innings, allowing five runs (four earned) on six hits and two walks, striking out five. His season ERA stands pat at 4.45 while his FIP increases to 3.56.
