New York Mets third baseman David Wright returned to First Data Field in Port St. Lucie to give reporters an update on how he feels and his plans going forward.
Wright, 34, flew to New York to get a second opinion on his right shoulder which was diagnosed as a shoulder impingement on Tuesday.
Wright talking to reporters about the ability to play third base “It does nobody any good to go out there to a position that requires throwing when you can’t throw.”
He also reiterated that he will keep swinging a bat and has no plans to stop, but he has been shutdown indefinitely from throwing. Wright has been the designated hitter in two games this spring, going 1 for 4.
