Entering the final couple of days of All-Star voting, no Mets player leads their position group.
Here is where certain Mets stand with regards to voting:
- Pete Alonso: 3rd (5,000 votes behind Matt Olson, 1.16 million behind Freddie Freeman)
- Francisco Lindor: 2nd (552,000 behind Orlando Arcia)
- Jeff McNeil: 7th (~750,000 behind Luis Arraez)
- Brandon Nimmo: (410,000 behind third-place Corbin Carroll)
- Francisco Álvarez: 4th (985,000 behind Sean Murphy)
Brett Baty is also seventh place in third-base voting.
The Mets have always performed poorly in All-Star fan voting. David Wright was the last Mets player elected by fans to star an All-Star Game, and the last non-Wright player to be voted to start were José Reyes and Carlos Beltrán in 2007.
Alonso, Nimmo, Lindor and David Robertson are potential Mets choices for reserves, which will be announced July 2.
