bobby Parnell

The Mets announced that C Anthony Recker, RHP Bobby Parnell, OF Eric Young, RHP Logan Verrett, and IF Eric Campbell are heading to Port St. Lucie and have not made the postseason roster.

All five players were told to stay in shape and be ready in case they are needed.

This means that outfielder Kirk Nieuwenhuis has made the cut along with catcher Kevin Plawecki who will back up Travis d’Arnaud.

The Mets are still holding out hope for Juan Uribe who continues to be plagued by a sore chest muscle. The Mets will make a final decision on him by Tuesday.

Ruben Tejada will be the Mets starting shortstop for the NLDS according to Collins, but Wilmer Flores who is battling the lingering effects of strep throat will be on the postseason roster and possibly see a start or two.

In the bullpen, Erik Goeddel was told he’s on the NLDS roster. No official word on who else is rounding up the pen as of yet, but there’s some buzz at Citi that Sean Gilmartin will be left off and Hansel Robles has made the cut.

In the next 48 hours we will have a clearer picture of what the final 25 man roster will be before they board a flight on Wednesday for Los Angeles. But officially, the Mets have until Friday before game time.

By the way… Mets in four…Mets Baby!!!
