Atlanta Braves (Record in last 10 games, 6-4; games gained/lost on div. leader in last 10 games, -2)

I think you know what the braves were up to this week on the field. Off the field however, they called up Kris Medlen to take Jo-Jo Reyes’s spot in the rotation after he lasted 3 innings Wednesday. The Braves also released three minor leaguers, including Chen En Hung. Hung is a 21-year-old pitcher from Taiwan who spent last year in A ball. He has a 2.30 ERA, 1.35, WHIP, 8.5 K/9 ratio, and a 4-1 record in 14 games. No word on why he was released, but with numbers like that, he could get a try in out A level team.

The Braves open a three game set at home against the Arizona Diamondbacks this weekend.

Philadelphia Phillies (4-6; -4)

The Phillies lost two of three at home to the Los Angeles Dodgers. They visited the White House today for the customary visit with the President. Staying in Washington, they open a four game set with the Nationals this weekend.

Florida Marlins (3-7; -5)

The Marlins started the season red hot, but can’t seem to win lately. They were swept by the Brewers in Milwaukee. They open a 10 game homestand tonight, beginning with three against the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Washington Nationals (6-4; -2)

The Nationals lost two of three in San Francisco to the Giants, and return home for a four-game series with the Phillies. 3B Ryan Zimmerman had his 30 game hit streak snapped. They moved catcher Jesus Flores to the DL, designated reliever Logan Kensing and called up reliever Jesus Colombe and catcher Josh Bard from AAA Syracuse.
