The Scottsdale Scorpions improved to 3-2 on the 2025 Arizona Fall League season with a 9-5 win over the Peoria Javelinas on Tuesday night. Mets center field prospect Nick Morabito played a key role in the win, reaching base three times and scoring two runs as the Scorpions’ leadoff hitter.
Morabito went 2-for-4 with a walk, triple, two runs scored and his third stolen base of the AFL season. Through three games, Morabito is hitting .417/.533/.667 with two extra-base hits, four runs scored and two RBIs.
The 22-year-old posted a .734 OPS and stole 49 bases for the Double-A Binghamton Rumble Ponies in 118 regular season games. We had Morabito ranked as our No. 16 Mets prospect in our August Top 50 update.
The only other Mets prospect in action on Tuesday was D’Andre Smith. The right fielder went 1-for-4 and has a .453 OPS to start the AFL season. Catcher/first baseman Chris Suero didn’t get into the game. He’s 1-for-7 with two walks and two stolen bases so far. He’s MMO’s No. 14 Mets prospect.
The Scorpions are back in action on Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. ET. The game can be watched on MLB dot com.
