The Atlanta Braves are bringing back veteran outfielder Nick Markakis according to Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic.

Rosenthal reports its a one-year, $4 million deal with a $6 million option for 2020 that has a $2 million buyout.

The 35-year-old is coming off an All-Star season with the Atlanta Braves in which he hit .297/.366/.440 with 14 home runs and 93 RBI to give himself a 114 wRC+ and 2.6 fWAR while playing in all 162 games.

Markakis was also solid defender in 2018 registering one defensive run saved between time in right and left field while also recording a 1.1 UZR.

The Braves had previously showed interest in free agent outfielder A.J. Pollock.
