Sources tell MLB.com’s William Ladson that the report saying the Nationals are interested in Chris Young are “not true”.  Earlier this week, it was reported that the Nationals were the other team, besides the Mets, who are interested in Chris Youngs services.  This means the Mets are the lone wolf in the running for Chris Young. Or is there a yet unknown team in the mix that is keeping this marriage from going through?

According to ESPN’s Buster Olney via Twitter, Chris Young is nearing a decision on where he will pitch next season.  The Mets, and now the Nationals, are the teams that are interested in Chris Young’s services.

The Mets have had interest in Chris Young since the Winter Meetings began.  The main interest factor is the relationship Chris Young has with both Paul DePodesta and Sandy Alderson.

The Mets to me are the perfect fit.  I’m not saying that only because the Mets need more starting pitching, but because Citi Field would be the perfect ballpark for Chris Young to succeed because he is mainly a fly-ball pitcher. It seems like a perfect match.
