It’s that time of year folks! Prospects lists have started to trickle out for the 2022 season and I finally had the chance to put mine together. The Mets farm system has three top 100 prospects (the top 3 on my list) according to the recently released Baseball America list, though both Mark Vientos and Mattew Allan saw time on their previous top 100 list well.

The Mets farm system saw strong years from top prospect Francisco Álvarez, infield prospects Mark Vientos and Brett Baty, power breakout from Ronny Mauricio, and out-of-nowhere season from the likes of Joel Diaz and Adam Oller.

Mets could certainly strengthen their farm system overall –which I feel is probably middle of the pack right now– with a good draft in 2022, that will include two first round picks and two likely comp picks for Noah Syndergaard and Michael Conforto.

I had originally planned on stopping at 30 prospects, but decided with the lockout that this would be a good opportunity to discuss a few names that we might not normally. Young arms like Cornielly, Ventura, Saurez, and Richard Brito can quickly jump right into the top 30 if they can stay healthy in 2022.

We will breakdown the Mets top 30 prospects in further detail in the coming months!
