Good morning, Mets fans.

Today, Jacob deGrom (4-0, 1.52 ERA) will attempt to continue his Cy Young quality campaign against the Cubbies.

DeGrom has been on an insane roll lately and has given up two earned runs in his last 40.1 innings. Mike Montgomery (1-1, 4.35 ERA) will oppose him. The game will be on FOX and 710WOR at 7:15 p.m.

A common theme of this season reoccurred yesterday. Brandon Nimmo impressed, but the Mets pen gave up the lead late, yet again. Nimmo gave the Mets an early lead with a two-run homer in the third inning and Zack Wheeler pitched effectively against the Cubs for six innings.

However a bullpen meltdown, led by Paul Sewald, allowed the Cubs to crawl back into the game. The Cubbies scored five runs in the final three innings to win the game, 7-4.
