Today, the Mets will receive another day off, which will be their second this week. Tomorrow, they’ll start a series against the Diamondbacks, who have surprisingly been one of the baseball’s best teams this year. The opener of the series will feature a Jacob deGrom (3-0, 1.83 ERA) vs a Zack Godley (4-2, 4.08 ERA) matchup.

The Blue Jays finally broke their winless streak at Citi Field, winning 12-1. Zack Wheeler simply wasn’t the same after being forced to wait 28 minutes because of a rain delay. Before the break, Wheeler had pitched three effective innings. However, his command fell apart and he was quickly sent to the showers. AJ Ramos and Buddy Baumann didn’t fare any better, permitting three runs apiece.

If there was a silver lining to yesterday’s game, it was that Wilmer Flores has seemingly begun to get out of the funk he’s been in all year, as he went 2-4 with a double.

The Mets have not won two straight games since the middle of April.
