Good Morning Mets Fans. After a much needed day off, the Metropolitans (8-11) will open up a three-game set against the Atlanta Braves (6-12) tonight. Robert Gsellman will toe the rubber for New York and will be opposed by Julio Teheran of Atlanta.

Tonight’s game is scheduled for a 7:10 PM ET start and can be seen on SNY as well as heard on 710 WOR.

Kevin Kernan of the NY Post writes on the ways the Mets can get around their troubles with the Nationals. As he notes the Mets are just 7-15 against Washington since Daniel Murphy left Queens. A flurry of games though against other lesser teams in the NL East could be just there cure for the Mets. Seven of their next 10 games are against the Braves.

Abbey Mastracco of NJ.com advises that the one thing this team cannot do at this juncture is freak out. Although they are in the midst of a tough stretch, the locker room does not seem too concerned as they know they have the talent to succeed and get out of this early season slump.

One of the biggest bright spots for this team thus far has been Michael Conforto. During this period of mediocrity, Conforto has shined in the leadoff role and impressed in the absence of Yoenis Cespedes.
