1973: The Mets took on the Dodgers with Tom Seaver starting against Tommy John. Seaver surrendered three runs over six innings, while John gave up two runs over seven innings. In the top of the eighth inning, George Theodore singled in a run to tie the score at 3. The game lasted 19 innings, five hours and 42 minutes long. The Mets won 7-3, thanks to big hits by Rusty Staub and Ed Kranepool.
