Good morning Mets fans! On Wednesday, Jacob deGrom bounced back with seven shut out innings of three hit baseball, while recording six strikeouts against the Cincinnati Reds. Unfortunately, the Mets did not provide any run support as they were shutout 1-0.

Mets hitters were stifled the majority of the night by Reds pitcher Anthony DeSclafani. The opposing starter went five and 2/3rds innings allowing no runs, on three hits, and struck out eight.

The game would remain scoreless until the ninth inning when Edwin Diaz gave up a go-ahead home run for the second straight outing. That would be all the Reds needed as the Mets were unable to scratch across a run all night.

Noah Syndergaard will attempt to turn his season around against Reds starter Tyler Mahle this afternoon. First pitch is at 12:10 p.m. E.T and the game will be televised on SNY.

Now let’s take a look at what else went on around the league yesterday!
