Last night, the Mets welcomed the return of Noah Syndergaard. He pitched one inning, needing only five pitches to get through it while allowing one hit. However, the Mets still lost by a score of 4-3.
Matt Harvey replaced him and pitched four innings, allowing three runs, walking two batters and striking out two. What plagued the right-hander was the long ball as he surrendered two in his few innings of work.
The Mets bullpen provided four innings of scoreless relief to get the team to extra innings.
However, Jacob Rhame allowed a Daniel Murphy homer in the tenth inning and received the loss.
The offense struggled to produce runs outside of the third inning in which they scored three by way of RBI singles from Brandon Nimmo and Kevin Plawecki. The offense recorded eight hits as a whole, including two from Norichika Aoki.
