Happy weekend, Mets fans!

The Mets took home a much-needed victory in dominant fashion Friday night, as Jacob deGrom threw together a marvelous complete game shutout, allowing just two hits and and striking out a career-high 15 batters.

They’ll take on the Nationals in game two of the series this afternoon, with Marcus Stroman on the hill, but before that happens, let’s get caught up with what happened in around baseball yesterday.

According to an article by Scott Soshnick and Eben Novy-Williams on Sportico, members of the Wilpon family are exploring multiple options to sell SNY, the Mets regional sports network; those interested in the purchase include current Mets’ owner Steve Cohen.

Mets’ acting general manager Zack Scott told reporters on Friday that Noah Syndergaard, Seth Lugo, and Carlos Carrasco are all making good progress. He said Syndergaard can be expected in June, Lugo in May, and no timetable yet for Carrasco. Scott also said that Dellin Betances is back with the team without a timetable for return and will continue to work on strengthening his shoulder.

Scott also told reporters that he is still trying to get to know Luis Rojas, and that so far everything has gone well with the Mets rookie manager.

After his three-inning sub-par performance on Thursday night, the Mets optioned starting pitcher Joey Lucchesi to their alternate site in exchange for left-hander Stephen Tarpley.

Before Thursday’s game against the Chicago Cubs, Mets’ slugger Pete Alonso confirmed his desire to defend his home run derby title this year, saying “I’d love to defend my title.”

The Mets minor league affiliates released 2018 21st round pick Zachary Hammer, and acquired shortstops Jimmy Titus and Albert Suarez from the Los Angeles Dodgers, according to Jacob Resnick of SNY.

Ben Zauzmer, the Mets new director of baseball analytics, is also well known for accurately predicting who will win Oscars. His hobby is described by Stephanie Apstein of Sports Illustrated.

Spotrac projected multiple potential contract extensions for the Mets upcoming, slotting a Jacob deGrom extension in at three years, $108 million, a Michael Conforto one in at six years, $144 million, and a Marcus Stroman one in at four years, $56 million.
