Good morning Mets fans! 

A day after suffering a heart attack, Darryl Strawberry posted a positive message on his Instagram Tuesday night, which also happened to be his 62nd birthday. 

“I have a lot to be grateful for on my 62nd birthday today, celebrating the gift of my life and love of family! We thank God for this recovery process! Blessed,” the post read. 

Hours earlier, Strawberry had made another post thanking the medical team at St. Joseph West in Lake St. Louis, Missouri, for aiding him through the procedure. 

At 9:30 a.m., the Mets posted a statement from Steve and Alex Cohen on Twitter. 

“On behalf of the entire organization we are sending positive thoughts to Darryl Strawberry, his wife Tracy and and his entire family after last night’s heart attack,” the post read. “Darryl was in Port St. Lucie working with the team as a guest instructor just a few weeks ago. We are looking forward to Straw’s speedy recovery and welcoming him for his number retirement on June 1.”

The Mets lost 4-1 to the Nationals in West Palm Beach on Tuesday night. José Quintana pitched four scoreless innings, but Joey Lucchesi followed and gave up four runs in 1 1/3 innings. The Mets offense had only two hits in the game, both singles.
