Good morning, Mets fans!
Mets veteran outfielder Starling Marte is looking to play in the Dominican Winter League, but there are some hoops to jump through prior to doing so. Marte, who missed most of the last two months of the 2023 season due to a groin injury, needs to get the Mets’ clearance to play in the winter league. Mike Mayer of Metsmerized Online reported that Marte was at practice on Wednesday with the Leones del Escodigo, the team said that he took batting practice and is waiting for clearance from the Mets to activate him.
This will not be an easy decision for the Mets as Marte has been dealing with groin injuries dating back to the 2022 season, including undergoing surgery in the offseason prior to the 2023.

The Mets continued to add to their 2024 roster while they wait on a decision from Yoshinobu Yamamoto, as they traded for starting pitcher Adrian Houser and outfielder Tyrone Taylor from the Milwaukee Brewers. The trade, which was first reported by Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic, will be sending back pitching prospect Coleman Crow to Milwaukee.
