Good Morning, Mets fans! On Wednesday, it was reported that Robinson Cano will be suspended for the entire 2021 MLB season after testing positive for performance-enhancing drugs, story from Jeff Passan of ESPN.

Cano will forfeit his $24 million salary this year and as a result, the Mets get roughly $20 million back into their budget to spend on player contracts this offseason.

This should allow Jeff McNeil to shift over to his natural position at second base, and could open the door to an aggressive pursuit of free agent superstar and batting title champion, D.J. LeMahieu, who can play first, second, and third base.

In the meantime, let’s check out what else went on around the league yesterday!
