The Phillies defeated the Padres to advance to the 2022 MLB World Series. Bryce Harper was named NLCS MVP after hitting a dramatic two-run homer in the eighth inning of the clincher Sunday.

In the ALCS, the Astros won a similarly close game, beating the Yankees 6-5 to sweep the series. The World Series is officially set, with the Phillies and Astros lined up to start on Friday.
