Call it roster pool, summer camp, or club player pool; it all means the same thing. Mets baseball is coming back!
Yesterday, the Mets released their roster pool list, which consisted of the 45 players that are eligible to appear in the Majors this season. The Mets can add up to 15 more players to their roster throughout the season.
Some notable surprises:
- Unofficial Spring Training MVP Johneshwy Fargas is on the roster.
- A quartet of pitchers that are on the 40-man roster (Stephen Gonsalves, Franklyn Kilome, Jordan Humphreys, and Thomas Szapucki) didn’t make the 45-man pool.
- No Tim Tebow.
- Rather shockingly, Jacob deGrom made the cut.
In other Mets news, they placed Noah Syndergaard on the 45-day IL with a torn UCL.
