On Tuesday evening, the Washington Nationals defeated the Houston Astros at Minute Maid Park by a score of 5-4 in the first game of the 2019 World Series.

On Wednesday, the Astros and the Nationals are set to face off for Game 2 of the World Series at Minute Maid Park. Stephen Strasburg (18-6, 3.32 ERA) is set to take the hill against Justin Verlander (21-6, 2.58 ERA). The game will be televised on FOX and is set to begin at 8:08 p.m. EST.

Joe Girardi appeared on air with Mike Francesa of WFAN, and said he will know where he will be managing in 2020 in “a little over 48 hours.”

Twins bench coach Derek Shelton will receive a second interview for the Mets managerial opening, according to Joel Sherman of the New York Post.

Sherman details that Girardi had his second interview on Tuesday while Eduardo Perez and Tim Bogar will receive their second interviews in the succeeding days.

Carlos Beltran will be receiving a second interview too, but the date of the interview is unknown.

Mets quality control coach Luis Rojas will also receive a second interview for the Mets managerial opening, according to Anthony DiComo of MLB.com.

Joel Sherman of the New York Post also reported that Skip Schumaker and Mike Bell will not be getting second interviews for the Mets managerial position.

Mickey Callaway has received multiple job feelers for 2020, including one from the Angels to be their pitching coach, according to Joel Sherman of the New York Post.
