Of those six, five were players and one was a staff member. These tests were performed this past week, and during the week there was a five-day period where there were no new positive tests. According to his Instagram post, Domingo German has “left baseball” which is the loose translation from Marly Rivera of ESPN. It is unclear whether this means he has opted out of the 2020 season or is retiring, however, the caption, which was also loosely translated, mentioned, “I think I did my part at Yankee Stadium, if I decide not to come back, I will be very proud of my 11-year professional career.” Rivera translated the caption of the cryptic post. While it is unclear what this means for German going forward after the 2020 season, he would have been serving the rest of his suspension this season for 63 games.

After testing positive for COVID-19, Yasiel Puig will not be signing with the Atlanta Braves, thus remaining a free agent, according to Jon Heyman of MLB Network. Jeff Passan of ESPN reported that the, once questionable, opening day matchup in Washington D.C. between the New York Yankees and Washington Nationals has now been cleared.
