Good morning Mets fans!

Today the Mets will get a day off as they’ll fly to Minnesota to kick off a quick two-game set against the first place Twins. Zack Wheeler (6-6, 4.69 ERA) will get the ball and he’ll be opposed by Michael Pineda (6-4, 4.56 ERA).

Apparently, pigs can fly because the Mets won a road series and Jacob deGrom got run support on the same day.  While deGrom was not at his top form, homeruns from the suddenly red-hot Robinson Cano and Jeff McNeil were more than enough for Jake. deGrom’s 144 strikeouts rank third in the NL while his 3.21 ERA places him ninth.
