Good morning, Mets fans!

Today, there is no Mets baseball. Whether that’s a good thing or a bad thing, that’s up to you, but I’m just happy I won’t see my favorite team getting walked-off on today.

Yesterday, the Mets broke our hearts yet again. This time, Mike Yastrzemski, the grandson of Hall-of-Famer Carl, was the culprit, homering in the bottom of the 12th inning. The Mets wasted a solid outing from Steven Matz, who was making his second start after returning to the rotation from the bullpen.

Zack Wheeler threw a bullpen in Oracle Park yesterday. Wheeler was placed on the IL with shoulder fatigue last week and the Mets seem focused on squeezing a start out of the right-hander before the trade deadline.

Anthony DiComo of MLB.com heard that Wheeler could return from the IL next weekend against the Pirates.
