Tensions have been high thus far between Rhys Hoskins and the Mets that resulted in the Saturday ejection of Yohan Ramírez on Saturday.

Per Robert Murray of FanSided, free agent first baseman Dom Smith and the Tampa Bay Rays are in agreement on a minor league deal. Smith recently opted out of a contract with the Chicago Cubs.

Murray also reported that according to sources, the Cubs are calling up right-handed pitching prospect Ben Brown, who is ranked by MLB Pipeline as the Cubs’ No. 10 prospect.

According to MLB Trade Rumors, the Chicago White Sox have released Lucius Fox and Yoelqui Cespedes.

Per Jen McCaffrey of The Athletic, Major League Baseball released their data on player diversity and some of the results were as follows:

  • 27.8 percent of players were born outside of the United States (264 of 949 total).
  • The Dominican Republic has the most international players in Major League Baseball at 108 players.
  • The Houston Astros have the most internationally-born players on their roster with 16, and the Boston Red Sox has the third-most in the league with 14 players.

Do-Hyoung Park of MLB.com reported that Anthony DeSclafani’s season is over as he underwent flexor tendon surgery that has an approximate 13-month recovery timeline.

According to Bryan Hoch of MLB.com, Yankees manager Aaron Boone said DJ LeMahieu has a non-displaced bone fracture and will be re-imaged in two weeks.

Per Sahadev Sharma of The Athletic, Craig Counsell said that Justin Steele has a grade one left hamstring strain and is expected to likely miss all of April. Cubs trainers want him walking without a limp before a plan is put in place, but expects Steele to be back some time in May.
