Following the firing of former manager Carlos Mendoza and yet another loss on Friday, the Mets finally got back in the win column on Saturday. It was the first for Andy Green since taking over as interim manager as New York defeated the Philadelphia Phillies 6-2.
The two teams close out their series on Sunday at 1:40 pm ET.

Prior to their game on Saturday, the New York Mets announced they reinstated Christian Scott from the 15-day injured list and optioned left-handed pitcher Zach Thornton to Triple-A Syracuse.
First reported by The Athletic’s Will Sammon, infielder Jorge Polanco began a rehab assignment for Triple-A Syracuse on Saturday. He went 0-for-3.
Per the transaction wire, following being designated for assignment, and after clearing waivers, infielder Zack Short has been outright to Triple-A Syracuse.

Anne Rogers of MLB.com reported that right-handed pitcher Cole Ragans will officially undergo surgery on July 1. The surgery will tell the full extent of the injury and bringing clarification on how long the Kansas City Royals’ pitcher will miss.
Jeff Passan of ESPN reported that first baseman Carlos Santana is signing a minor-league contract with the Atlanta Braves. Santana, who is 40 years old, was recently released by the Arizona Diamondbacks.
The Chicago Cubs announced a plethora of roster moves on Saturday:
- Bryse Wilson was added to the 26-man roster.
- Jayden Murray was optioned to Triple-A Iowa.
- Hoby Milner was placed on the 15-day injured list (appendicitis)
- Tyler Ferguson was recalled from Triple-A.
Jorge Castillo of ESPN reported that the Philadelphia Phillies signed Tommy Pham to a minor league deal.
The Toronto Blue Jays announced that they placed outfielder Jesus Sánchez on the injured list with a right ankle sprain. Outfielder Yohendrick Piñango was recalled in his place.
