Good morning, Mets fans!
On Monday night, the Mets had a comeback, the likes of which have been few and far between in 2026.
Down a run with two outs in the ninth inning, Juan Soto came to the plate with a chance to make his mark on the game. On a 3-1 fastball, Soto turned on the ball directly down the right field line, staying fair for a three-run home run. The mammoth blast traveled 430 ft at 107.8 mph.
Devin Williams came on in an attempt to save the game, and promptly gave up a tying two-run home run to Matt Olson. Brooks Raley would save the day by getting the Mets out of the inning.
However the Mets were not done yet, as Luis Torrens drove in two with a two-out double in the 10th. Luke Weaver came on for the save, and although his scoreless streak ended at 25 1/3 innings, he still picked up a save and didn’t allow an earned run, with the Mets winning 7-6.
