Good Morning Mets Fans. The Metropolitans (7-6) will begin their second homestand of the season today as they welcome in the Philadelphia Phillies (4-8). Zack Wheeler will look to build on his last start as he takes the ball for the Mets and will be opposed by Zach Eflin of the Phillies.

Tonight’s game is scheduled to begin at 7:10 PM ET and can be seen on SNY or heard on 710 WOR.

Wheeler, who last pitched against the Phillies this past Wednesday continues to adjust to the every day grind of the game after being out since 2014. He has stated that his body is not used to throwing as many pitches as he has recently and gets tired earlier than he would like as he has worn down around the 60-70 pitch mark. Mets outfielder, Curtis Granderson has an interesting idea when it comes to extra-inning games. He stated that after 10 innings have been played each team can send up two players to the plate, each will receive five swings and whichever team hits more homers in that timeframe wins the game. Kristie Ackert of the NYDN believes the Mets are more worried about Jose Reyes than they are letting on. The team has yet to find any success out of the leadoff spot this season and desperately needs to get Jose going. So far on the season Reyes has hit to a .087/.176/.109 batting line with no home runs or RBI and only three runs scored.
