The Mets tied the Cardinals 7-7 on Thursday afternoon. Center fielder Johneshwy Fargas hit for the cycle while Rick Porcello threw three scoreless innings.

Mets are back at it on Friday, with a night game against the Astros in West Palm Beach. Michael Wacha is on the mound for the Mets. Game starts at 6:05 p.m. ET with no TV availability.

Matt Adams returned to Mets camp on Thursday, he was sent to New York for additional cardiac testing as a precaution. There were no issues and he should resume playing soon.

Dellin Betances is scheduled to make his Mets debut on Saturday. He has been throwing in simulated games.

Edwin Diaz threw 17 pitches in a simulated game on Thursday, walking one but giving up no runs per David Lennon of Newsday. Diaz told reporters that the Mets have not told him that he is slotted in as the closer yet.

The Mets will retire Jerry Koosman‘s No. 36 on June 13.

Seth Lugo threw in a simulated game as well on Thursday, he allowed a run. Mets shortstop prospect Ronny Mauricio singled off him and third base prospect Mark Vientos hit a double. Lugo talked about his displeasure with openers.

The White Sox continue to lock up their young players, they gave second baseman Yoan Moncada a five-year extension with a sixth-year club option on Thursday. The deal guarantees him $70 million.

Former Mets pitcher Collin McHugh has signed a major league deal with the Red Sox as the team announced on Thursday. It’s a one-year Major League contract. His base salary will be $600K with another $3.625 million available via incentives per Sean McAdam of the Boston Sports Journal.

Red Sox ace Chris Sale has been diagnosed with a flexor strain and he will be shut down from throwing until next week.

The Major League Baseball Players Association has filed a second grievance against the Pittsburgh Pirates challenging the team’s use of revenue-sharing funds per Rob Biertempfel of The Athletic.

Former Met pitcher Ervin Santana wants to continue pitching and recently threw for the Phillies according to Jon Heyman of MLB Network. The veteran pitched in the Mets minor league last season.

Nationals outfielder Victor Robles has been swinging without pain recently, though he his still feeling soreness in his oblique when running and throwing.
