Good Morning, Mets fans!

The Mets took on the second place Philadelphia Phillies last night at Citi Field. Rick Porcello had one of his better outings of the season on Friday night going six innings, giving up only two earned runs on three hits while walking two and striking out six batters. Misplays by Andres Gimenez and Dominic Smith put the Phillies in front 4-2. A bases loaded hit-by-pitch in the eighth gave the Phillies a 5-2 lead that they held onto until an RBI single from Smith in the eighth, but the Mets’ comeback attempt fell short as they lost the opener by two runs.

Tonight, the Mets will play game two of their four game series against the Phillies and they will have RHP Seth Lugo (1-2, 2.12 ERA) on the mound for the Mets, and the Phillies will send RHP Spencer Howard (1-1, 5.40 ERA) to the mound. The game will start at 7:10 PM ET and will be televised on SNY and broadcast from WCBS 880.
