Good Morning Mets Fans. The Metropolitans (10-13) will look to complete the sweep today of the Washington Nationals (16-8) as they send their ace, Noah Syndergaard to the mound. Thor will be opposed by Joe Ross as the boys from Queens look to keep it going against their division rival.

Today’s game is scheduled to begin at 1:35 PM ET and can be seen on WPIX and MLB Network as well as heard on 710 WOR.

Zack Wheeler had a so-so day on Saturday in the Mets’ exciting 5-3 win over the Nationals. Wheeler failed to make it past five innings as he allowed two runs, only one of which were earned on five hits. He did though allow quite a lot of baserunners as he walked four while striking out four as well in 4.2 innings pitched.  The bullpen came together once again and did a fantastic job, allowing just one run over 4.1 innings of work as closer, Jeurys Familia earned his first save of the season. Michael Conforto continues to mash and reward the organization for giving him the shot he deserved in 2017. He put together a 3-for-4 day with two homers and three RBI, helping to carry the offense to another big victory over the Nationals. So far this season he has hit to a .333/.410/.706 batting line to go along with six homers and 12 RBI. It has been a nice resurgent season thus far for the 24-year-old outfielder. The Mets received some positive news on Yoenis Cespedes as tests have shown that his hamstring has no serious damage. General Manager, Sandy Alderson is hopeful that the star slugger could be ready to return early next month. It is a sigh of relief for many as the scene on the field from Thursday was not pretty as Yo could seemingly put no pressure on his left leg after the injury occurred.
