Good Morning, Mets fans!

The first place New York Mets welcome in the Washington Nationals after their series win against the Milwaukee Brewers. Jacob deGrom will face Jeremy Hellickson tonight at 7:10 p.m. on SNY.

Yesterday, the Mets beat the Brewers 3-2 thanks to timely home runs from Brandon Nimmo and Wilmer Flores and some very good pitching. Nimmo’s tied the game in the sixth inning while Wilmer’s won the game in the ninth inning. Check out the highlights below!

Noah Syndergaard raved about Tomas Nido‘s catching abilities and said he looked forward to working with him “many more times.”

Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports posted a video and said the Mets seem inclined to go with Jose Lobaton and Tomas Nido while Kevin Plawecki is out 3-4 weeks.

In the same video, Rosenthal said the Mets made “repeated inquiries” on J.T. Realmuto in the offseason and also asked about Starlin Castro. He also says the Mets will continue monitor the market and re-visit Realmuto at some point during the season.

The Mets formally activated Dominic Smith off the disabled list and optioned him to Las Vegas.
