Good morning, Mets fans! The early season buzz is in the air as the Mets go for the sweep against the Cardinals at 1:10 p.m. today on SNY and ESPN for those who are out of market.

Yesterday, Jacob deGrom battled without his best command. deGrom pitched into the sixth and was yanked with two outs in order to keep him from facing the powerful bat of Jose Martinez again. Robert Gsellman struck out Martinez but struggled in the next inning. After allowing two baserunners, Gsellman came out for Anthony Swarzak who got out of the jam. The following inning, he gave up a homer and left with an oblique injury.

Jeurys Familia came in for the four-out save and secured it, giving the Mets a 6-2 win. On offense, Todd Frazier had a two-run double in the first inning. Travis d’Arnaud and Yoenis Cespedes both homered too. Asdrubal Cabrera went 3-for-5 out of the leadoff spot and gave the Mets a late insurance run.
