Good Morning, Mets Fans!!

Today, Seth Lugo will make his first start of the year against Chicago Cubs southpaw Jose Quintana. This will be Lugo’s first start since September 30th of 2017. The game will be on SNY and 710 WOR at 7:10 P.M.

Yesterday’s game wasn’t pretty, but the Mets still won it nevertheless. Adrian Gonzalez got the scoring started with an RBI double in the fourth inning. Brandon Nimmo extended it with a seventh-inning single. The Mets put the game out of reach when Gonzalez and Nimmo contributed their second RBI’s of the night.

Jason Vargas finally held a lead and pitched five scoreless innings of two-hit ball. Tim Peterson made his Major-League debut(Congrats to Tim!) and even though he allowed a run, it was still a special night for the 27-year-old. Jeurys Familia, surprisingly, came on in the eighth and, aided by an Amed Rosario defensive gem, kept the Braves off the board. Robert Gsellman closed out the game with a perfect ninth.
