Morning Briefing: Mets Back to 3 Games From Wild Card Spot

Good morning Mets fans! On Wednesday, the Mets rallied in the ninth inning to score four-runs and steal the rubber game from the Colorado Rockies to stay afloat in the Wild Card race.

Noah Syndergaard finally got his own personal catcher in his start yesterday yet still allowed four-runs for the third straight start. Luckily his offense bailed him out late in the game.

With 10 games left to go, the amazins’ now trail the Chicago Cubs and Milwaukee Brewers by three-games after both NL Central teams lost last night.

After an off-day on Thursday, the Mets begin a three-game set in Cincinatti. Cy Young candidate Jacob deGrom (9-8, 2.61 ERA) will look to keep his team’s postseason hopes alive as he takes on Reds All-Star starter Luis Castillo (15-6, 3.22 ERA).

First pitch is at 7:10 p.m. ET and the game can be seen on SNY.
