Good morning, Mets fans!

The Mets have officially been mathematically eliminated from playoff contention. The Philadelphia Phillies defeated the Pirates on Saturday afternoon, meaning the Phillies or Braves will finish the season with at least 83 wins. The Mets, at 73 wins as of Saturday, only had nine games remaining heading into their Saturday night matchup against the Milwaukee Brewers.

The Mets have lost four straight and are 1-9 in their last 10. It’s now just a matter of going through the motions and playing out the last few games before getting ready for next season.
