On Saturday, the Mets defeated the Nationals in a thrilling slug fest. J.D. Davis hit two home runs while Pete Alonso, Robinson Cano and Michael Conforto all chipped in one as well. Steven Matz had a solid outing, bouncing back from 51 pitchers through two innings to go five scoreless with eight strikeouts. Keon Broxton ended up driving in the game-winning run with an RBI single in the eighth inning. Edwin Diaz came on in the ninth to collect his fourth save.

Sunday, the rubber match of the Mets-Nationals series takes place with Zack Wheeler facing Max Scherzer. The game will be on at 1:10 p.m. EST and can be seen on SNY.
