Will Sammon of The Athletic gave some Mets injury updates on Saturday:

  • Justin Verlander is on track to throw a live session on Sunday (today).
  • Per Buck Showalter, Carlos Carrasco is two to three days from throwing again and the Mets won’t know more until he starts throwing.
  • Showalter also provided updates on Stephen Ridings. “Two steps forward, one step back with him; mostly forward now. He will be a nice get to get in mix,” Showalter said. “Backed off, but close to where he was at the end of spring training.”
  • Stephen Nogosek started a rehab assignment on Saturday with Triple-A Syracuse.

The Mets (14-8) and Giants (7-13) wrap up their three-game series tonight at 7:10 p.m. ET at at Oracle Park in San Francisco. Tylor Megill (3-1. 3.00 ERA) will take the mound for the Mets against Ross Stripling (0-1, 7.30 ERA) for the Giants.
