Dodgers starter Julio Urías was arrested late Sunday night on felony domestic violence charges. The 27-year-old was released early Monday morning on $50,000 bond. The Dodgers stated that Urías will not travel with the team while they learn all the facts of the situation. This isn’t Urías’ first run-in with the law — he was suspended for 20 games in 2019 for domestic battery.

The Mets begin a five-game road trip today with the first of two games against the Nationals. José Quintana (1-5, 3.26 ERA) against another southpaw Patrick Corbin (9-12, 4.90 ERA). To date, the Mets have won six of their 11 matchups against Washington, including taking three of four at Citi Field in late July. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 PM.

Mets pitching prospect Joander Suarez was named Eastern League Pitcher of the Week for Double-A Binghamton. In his first start at the Double-A level. Suarez tossed six hitless innings, striking out six.

Julio Rodríguez hit his 25th home run of the year on Monday, giving him his second straight 25-25 season to begin his career. The 22-year-old is the first player in MLB history to begin his career with consecutive 25-25 seasons.

Shohei Ohtani was scratched from the Angels’ lineup on Monday due to right oblique tightness. Earlier in the day, agent Nez Balelo revealed Ohtani will likely have surgery on his elbow, but it’s unknown whether that will be Tommy John surgery.
